v1.1.0 Patch Notes
Soulless » Devlog

New features:
- Added voiced dialogue to the security robots.
- Added subtitles. Toggleable from the settings or pause menu. Traditional subtitles for the companion and overhead subtitles for the security robots.
- Added data log tracker. Appears as an animated slide in when the player finds a new data log. A static version is visible at any time in the pause menu.
- Added communicator slide in widget so that when the companion speaks to you over "radio" it is a bit clearer that your companion isn't just an omnipotent being. Fun fact, the waveform graphic is made in real time from the audio that is playing.
Bugfixes:
- Security Robot enemies should no longer turn into "zombies" when killed.
- The second laser redirection puzzle is now possible without requiring weird placement of the redirection cube.
- Combat music should now play during the first major combat of the game, even if you exit the building quickly.
Gameplay Improvements:
- Bullets now travel 3x faster than before. For both the player and Security Robots.
- Security robot enemies should fire their weapon more often now.
- Security robots that engage in combat now alert nearby allies to also engage in combat after a brief delay.
- Security robots' reaction times to initiating combat has been greatly improved.
- Security robots are more accurate with their shots, but not in an unfair way. They should pose at least some threat now.
- Moved two data logs from inaccessible points on the map to now accessible points on the map.
Menu Improvements:
- Updated main menu buttons and added a settings menu option to the main menu.
- Updated the pause menu buttons and added options to restart, return to the main menu, and exit the game.
- Updated settings widget to be easier to use and read.
- Settings changes now persist across levels and even after you close the game.
